The Isewan Typhoon

In the evening of September 26, 1959, the Isewan Typhoon came ashore at Shionomisaki on the Kii Peninsula. The typhoon caused tremendous damage, particularly to the coastal areas of Mie and Aichi Prefectures.

The Oku Factory fire
Overcoming any difficulty with indomitable spirit is a Yazaki tradition.
On the night of February 26, 1955, a fire broke out in Yazaki Densen’s Oku Factory in Oku, Arakawa Ward. The Oku Factory was the first that Sadami Yazaki had built after going into business on his own.

In 1972, the Yazaki Group stood at the peak of its prosperity. That year, it completed the Hamana Factory, its largest manufacturing plant. Called the “Aircraft Carrier Enterprise” for its size, the factory’s construction cost the whopping sum of 12 billion yen.
