Yazaki Group -The Multicultural
Organization |

It is said that the world is becoming smaller and
smaller each day thanks to advances in the speedy transportation of people, goods,
and, most of all, information. Countries and cultures are growing closer by the
minute. But no matter how close in time and thinking we become, differences will
always remain. In addition to historical and cultural differences among countries,
there is often extreme geographical diversity as well. Some locales are blessed
with warm sunny weather all year round, while other places are plagued by scorching
sun, or by frequent typhoons and floods. In America or Japan we would think 35
degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit) was hot. But in the Middle East the temperature
on a given day might be 58.8 degrees Celsius (138 degrees Fahrenheit). On the
same day in the Antarctic it might be -88.3 degrees Celsius (-190 degrees Fahrenheit).
We hear the word "internationalism" a lot these days. To us this means
providing for people's needs where they are needed. An air-conditioning system
designed for the Japanese market would be useless in the Middle East. But an air-conditioning
system based on solar energy takes advantage of the natural resources of the Middle
East to serve the needs that region's people. We at Yazaki believe that by understanding
the world's diversity of environments, culture, history, politics and lifestyles,
we can better create better solutions and a better life for everyone.
In the world there are rich and poor countries, countries that endure intense
heat or bitter cold, countries that suffer torrential rains, and countries with
vast stretches of arid wilderness. The Yazaki Group is uniquely positioned to
meet the specific needs of people in very different places. Our greatest sense
of accomplishment is achieved when we can jointly develop original technology
and products that help solve local problems and contribute to society's well-being.
Just as in Japanese flower arrangement, where each flower is added to enhance
the beauty of the whole, a multicultural organization bestows advantages and benefits
on every member. Through open dialog and the honest exchange of ideas, we all
benefit.
